And do you know where its name comes from (saari = island)? The library building was completely renovated in 2022–2025 while respecting its architectural heritage. During the guided tour, you will hear about the building’s renewed spaces, modern facilities and services. As we walk through the different departments, you will also discover the history of libraries in Oulu and the story of this remarkable building. The tour lasts about 1–1.5 hours.
